Help My Sister Rebuild Her Life After a Tragic Accident

On Thursday, October 30th, around 6 a.m., my 20-year-old sister’s life changed forever. She and her boyfriend were simply riding their bikes to the store when a driver in a black Mercedes struck her on New McFarland Road in Alpharetta, GA.

At the scene, her left leg was completely severed. She lost so much blood that doctors said it’s a miracle she’s even alive today. Our family’s world shattered that morning.

She’s only 20 years old — she had dreams, plans, and a bright future ahead of her. Now, she faces a long, painful road of surgeries, rehabilitation, and learning how to live with one leg.

What hurts even more is knowing that the driver who hit her was not arrested, not cited, and not even given a sobriety test. Five days later, all we received was an “incident report” — not an accident report — listing nothing but the driver’s name, and a VIN number. It feels like her life didn’t matter to the system meant to protect her.

Our family is seeking justice — but right now, we’re also just trying to survive. My sister’s medical bills have already passed $350,000, and she will need ongoing care, prosthetics, and therapy for years to come. My mother cannot work while caring for her, and daily living expenses like rent, car payments, insurance, and groceries have become overwhelming.
