Help Norwood (Gordie Madill ) Rebuild Cattle Barn
Donation protected
On Thursday January 6th, at approximately 8pm, a farmers worst nightmare became a harsh reality. The roof of their cattle barn came crashing down under the weight of an unusual amount of snow mixed with freezing rain, trapping the cattle inside. Only through some miracle combined with the family putting their own lives at risk did all of the cattle make it out alive. It’s just what farmers do.
This family has long been an icon in the Comox Valley. From the famous Barn Dances to cattle sorting events, roping and more. Those that know Gordie, know he is the first man to be there when help is needed, but also the last man to ever ask for help. But when faced with carnage and loss like this, we all know that no one can or should do this alone. Loss of feed, shavings and damaged equipment. Added cost to clean up and rebuild far exceeds anything people should face alone.
The costs to clean up will add up quickly, along with immediate needs for the animals. I am reaching out to everyone of you to help. If 5000 people donate $10 we will have reached our goal ! Let’s show this family the love and support they deserve and help them rebuild.
All funds will go directly to Gordie Madill. Alternatively if you would prefer direct email transfer, please email directly to [email redacted]
