My mom has been battling breast cancer for six long years. Just a month ago, she underwent her third surgery to remove her right breast, and now, after hearing from her oncologist, we learned she’ll need six months of chemotherapy because the cancer just won’t leave her body. We were already struggling with this, but yesterday, our world was shattered when the second floor of her home caught on fire. Thankfully, she wasn’t there, but my young nephew was, and he’s left traumatized by the experience.

Now, in addition to fighting for her life, my mom has to figure out how to rebuild the home she’s worked so hard to make a safe sanctuary for our family. It feels like everything is crumbling around us, and we’re overwhelmed with the weight of it all. We’re reaching out for help during this incredibly difficult time. Any support, no matter how small, will mean the world to us.
