After the snowstorm last Sunday, we walked outside to begin digging out only to discover our greenhouse had collapsed under the weight of the snow and ice. It was hard to believe a structure so large and seemingly sturdy could just buckle like that! Our hearts sunk when we realized we could not save the building or any of the crops inside it. We went in to harvest what we could, feeling all the time that the rest of the structure might fall on us at any moment!

Things began to change when we sent out the email to let everyone know what had happened and to offer the final harvest. The response was amazing! We were so uplifted by all the messages of support and offers of help along with orders for everything we had, including orders to donate our items to the Mount Airy Net food bank! This response made us feel that we were not alone and reminded us that a true community has formed around Bold Love. After all, it was this very community that helped us build the greenhouse in the first place!

We started to feel a sense of hope that maybe this was an opportunity to rebuild an even better and stronger greenhouse that would allow us to offer even more food to the community than before. And maybe the community could help us do it! We’re asking for your support to help us rebuild and keep Bold Love Farm thriving and serving the community we love. We are asking people to donate no more than $20. That way it will truly be a community effort!
