I am Dave Zaloz, owner of Bluff View Marina. We serve visitors to Clearwater Lake, near Piedmont, MO. The lake is not one of your larger-sized lakes, but it's ideal for pontoons, which are great for family outings.

On 3/14, a tornado made a direct hit on the marina, taking out two-thirds of the facility. We have never dealt with a force so destructive—a tornado does not leave a neat pile in its wake. It is traumatizing to see what was turned into many smaller pieces and scrambled. The toll is devastating.

Marina insurers are reluctant to cover wooden docks—they are more fragile. Since two-thirds of our damage was to our wooden docks, we are in need of funding to offset the costs of debris removal, clean-up, and facilities replacement. Marina builders have been hit hard with rising steel costs, which are passed on to the buyers (Bluff View Marina). The monetary needs for this endeavor far exceed our resources, and we are asking for assistance in raising the needed funds. All funding received will go toward expenses from this devastating tornado event.
