As the fire ripped through Cudgewa Vic, Greg was fighting alongside the local CFA crew, while Alice left her home to go help other evacuees. During this time, the fire threatened their farm. Despite the valiant efforts from Greg and the crew, they could not save the house and had to leave in order to save their lives.

Greg and Alice lost their house, the majority of their pasture, all their hay, and fences. They lost some sheds, all their tools, motorbikes and all their valued possessions. The majority of their sheep had to be euthanised, including  Greg's pride and joy - his fine wool merinos. 38 years of breeding fine wool merinios was lost.

They are now living in a borrowed caravan next to the burnt ruins of their home, planning on living in the shearing shed that survived, until they have rebuilt their home. They still have no power.

Fencing has been erected to contain the remaining  stock in a couple of small paddocks, but Greg and Alice urgently need boundary fences to be rebuilt. They also need assistance to make part of the shed into a small living space.

Please donate.  Insurances are going to take a long time. The rebuilt boundary fences will help Greg and Alice contain their remainingstock. And Alice and Greg will have somewhere to live until they build a house.

You can see their story on the above link, on the 7.30 report on the ABC from the 14th January 2020.
