Supporting Our Home(Nina, Grae, Paige + Mama Wednesday and Baby Grim)

As wildfires continue to ravage our area, we fled late Tuesday evening with our kitties and the bear essentials. Naively accounting for a 24 hour displacement, we set off assuming—though worse than anything seen to date— that we would be safe to return home soon. Now as we watch the wildfires engulf the areas around us, the uncertainty of whether we’ll have a home to return to weighs heavily.

Outside the immediate strain, we are now waiting to uncover financial impact of these events. Having very recently relocated from the east coast to our home in Santa Monica, we were already stretched thin. During this time of upheaval, unexpected costs for emergency lodging, food, essentials and the inability to work while displaced, means we are beyond what we can manage ourselves. To our community and those closest to us, your generosity could make all the difference in helping us stay safe and secure through this crisis.

To be so deeply loved and cared for that we are fielding an outpouring of concern and immense relief that we are safe, is a blessing that carries its own profound weight. The way it sits with us that we have such a large support system, so concerned with our wellbeing, is hard to put into words.
