Hello everyone, my name is Jessica Najera and I am from Raleigh, North Carolina.
My fiancé and soon-to-be in-laws have been heavily impacted by Hurricane Melissa. They live in Westmoreland, Jamaica, one of the parishes hit hardest by the storm.
Right now, they are without power and trying to recover from severe damage to their home.
While we are so thankful that they are safe, their house suffered major damage — the roof was torn off, and flooding has caused water damage to the furniture and walls, which could soon lead to mold and mildew. They are also running low on clean water and food, and the roads in their area are blocked, making it hard to leave their community for supplies.
Despite everything, we thank God for life, because it truly could have been much worse.
If you are able to give anything — big or small — it would mean the world to us. All donations will go directly toward purchasing food and clean water, roofing materials, building supplies, and replacement furniture and household essentials to help them rebuild and get back on their feet.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support, prayers, and kindness during this difficult time.
