Greetings,

I'm Rochelle Walker, also known as Ro-Kemi—a dual Jamaican citizen, from London, who spent time last winter in Jamaica visiting my beloved family. I was warmly hosted by relatives who cared for me during my visit home, which is why I've set up this fundraiser.

My family are proud, hardworking people: self-made farmers, butchers, builders and independent merchants. Their livelihoods, homes, and communities have been devastated by Hurricane Melissa.

The storm has ravaged my families farms, killed their livestock, torn roofs from multiple relatives houses, and left many of my relatives without basic living essentials. The situation is especially dire in rural Jamaica, where government assistance is slow to arrive due to damaged roads and limited access.

Why we are fundraising:

- Essential food items: drinking water, non-perishable items; tinned goods, rice, pasta, dried legumes, flour, and other staples. Water purification tablets.

- Hygiene supplies: Soap, Dettol/Disinfectant, feminine hygiene products, mosquitoes repellent, anti-fungal creams, first aid kits

- Emergency items: batteries, candles, tarpaulin sheets, Solar lights, candles & torches, generators.

We aim to ship a container in the coming weeks and send direct financial aid to families and relatives in the following areas;

St. Elizabeth, Woodlands - The Hills, The Monteith's and The Johnson's

Wakefield, Trelawny - The Walker's and The Blaire's

Ginger Hill, Hanover - The Walker's

Every donation will go straight to the above affected families.

Now is the time to come together !! Families in the diaspora (UK & USA) are encouraged to pool resources—larger, collective contributions make a greater impact than scattered small donations.
