It started as any other typical romance. She was a Japanese girl that lived next door to me and locked herself out. What grew from waiting for the locksmith was a 10-year relationship: 2 years of dating into 8 more building a new family in Upstate NY.
The beginning was great in NYC. Friends, food, fun, and our occupations gave us each an identity as we worked in Manhattan in the early 2000s. She got pregnant in 2003 and had my precious daughter on 11/11/2003. My son was then born in August 2005 during Hurricane Katrina.
We had a big, beautiful house in Upstate NY, and I continued working as an executive, taking care of my family.
We were a family unit, and for better or worse, we were tight with my native family living a few miles away to help her with anything. My kids loved their American grandparents and aunt, and vice versa.
Over time, I changed jobs and had to move back to NYC to work. That's when the problems began.
My ex-wife had great bouts of depression and loneliness while I was away Monday to Friday.
During these times, she crafted an abduction of my entire family to Tokyo while I worked away in the city.
On the night she ran away, my daughter, now 3, was at her grandparents' house. She kept begging not to go home, saying mom's acting crazy. Around 10 pm, she suddenly showed up demanding the child back. She took her away crying and screaming. No one in the USA ever saw her alive again. My son was missing from my life from age 2 to 16.
This same influence has returned to the USA for the purpose of collecting every dime possible, then returning to Japan.
Since her return, the court has attacked and removed all my capabilities to earn. No driver's license. No passport. Nothing until she gets paid.
She is using the state courts perfectly to deny fair management of my life, reducing me from being an executive to having to walk to work to be a greeter at Home Depot or a grill chef in a restaurant.
I am stuck in this position until either the courts act fairly or the continuously growing debt is settled.
I am not allowed to know the actual debt amount at the end date; hence the figure assumes continued payments as the state of New York cares very little for one of its homegrown citizens but is all in for an immigrant here to collect benefits and destroy any potential relationship I could possibly have with my still-abducted surviving son.
GoFundMe has been a thought pushed forward to help dig out. The story of the abduction and my child's termination in Japan is just very hard to write about. She died at the age of 5, and it still hurts me very much. Her name was Jane.
