Last week, the unimaginable became reality. My brother, sister-in-love, and their three beautiful children returned to a devastating scene- all 3 levels of their home had flooded. When my nephew came home at lunch, he was met with water cascading down the stairs, pouring from the light fixtures, and seeping through the second floor into their basement.

The damage is staggering. Treasured belongings, irreplaceable memories-gone.

According to the water department, over 2,300 gallons of water coursed through their home. And yet, adding heartbreak to hardship, their insurance company has offered just $10,000—barely enough to cover the cost of the industrial fans used to dry the structure.

This has been an overwhelming blow to a family who gives so much love and joy to the world. If you’re able, your support—prayers, encouragement, or contributions—would mean more than words can say.
