Help rebuild A Step Above Dance Academy
Donation protected
My name is Shannon Clayborn and I am the Owner/Director of A Step Above Dance Academy. I started ASA 13 years ago in hopes of providing a safe, encouraging, motivating, and friendly space for dancers of all ages and abilities. We’ve grown into one of the strongest programs in our area with a regionally and nationally award-winning competitive program. Our dancers, and their families, consider ASA a second home, as the dancers are our “kids” and the parents have become our friends.
Recently, our space suffered horrendous flooding due to a failure in the city's storm drainage systems. The storm drains on Water St failed, sending rain water around the drains and down the hill straight into our building. As my landlord stated, it looked like a "tsunami" coming into our space. Though we’ve done everything we can to save the space, the amount of water that came in and the type of water that flooded, in combination with the fact that it's trapped under our sprung dance floors means that we have a problem on our hands that is not easily, nor quickly fixed.
I humbly and gratefully ask for any help you can provide. These funds will go towards replacing our sprung floors, carpet, and walls, as well as class materials that we lost in the water. My goal is to get back to dancing and providing a space for laughs, memories, and lots of love with our dancers and families.
I don’t ask this lightly and am extremely grateful for any amount at all that can help us get back into our space as quickly as we can. I am eternally grateful to each and everyone person who considers making a donation or sharing this information with friends and family.
