Help Us Give My Father a Fresh Start After Devastating Losses

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,

My younger siblings and I are reaching out with heavy hearts, asking for your support in helping our father during a time of unimaginable loss and hardship.

In just the past few weeks, my father has lost nearly everything dear to him. He said goodbye to my mother, his beloved wife, Carolyn Ann “Cam” Fischer, who passed away on August 22, 2024. Her absence has left a deep void in our family. My parents’ love was the foundation that kept us strong, and losing her has been devastating for all of us.

As if that loss wasn’t enough, my father also lost the home he lovingly built with his own hands. Half of our family house was constructed by him—a labor of love over many years. Sadly, the home became uninhabitable and was condemned due to overwhelming conditions, including the presence of 137 cats. Despite our pleas for help, we were unable to prevent this heartbreaking situation.

My father is a kind and gentle man who has always put his family first. Now, in his later years, he deserves to live with dignity, safety, and love, but we are faced with an uphill battle to provide him with that. He doesn’t want to be placed in assisted living; he longs to be with family or close friends in a warm and nurturing environment.

The Struggles We Face

For over 1.5 years, my siblings and I have been fighting to protect both of our parents from elder abuse. We filed multiple reports with the Department of Health and Senior Services and the local police, yet our efforts were ignored until it was too late to save our mother. Now, we are doing everything in our power to ensure our father gets the care and safety he deserves.

Our father has lost his home, his beloved wife, and his sense of security. We are now working tirelessly to provide him with a fresh start in a clean, safe, and loving home. The financial burdens are overwhelming—legal fees, housing costs, and medical expenses are all adding up. My family is pulling together every resource we have, but we need help to ensure my father can live his final years with dignity and comfort.
