ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
For the last 2-3 months there has been heavy rainfall which has triggered a series of destructive flash floods in Mogadishu. This has caused immense damage to many cultural hubs and have rendered Somali locals unable to access numerous services- one of which having a major impact on the community at large: education.
Macalin Abduqadir is among one of the community trusted educators that has, unfortunately, lost his dugsi (school) to these flash floods. With his school alone, supplies have been damaged, resources have been lost, and spaces to teach have diminished. Yet, despite the limiting circumstances of his predicaments, Macalin Abduqadir persists.
He has committed himself to teaching the youth of the community so much so that he has welcomed them into his home. Upon hearing this, we felt compelled to fund the rebuilding of his school- and, fortunately, this is very possible. The money donated will be used to:
fix the foundation of the building that has been eroded by water;
stabilize the structure of the school (including the installation of new windows and doors);
provide sustainable furniture (ie. bookshelves, desks, carpeting etc);
buying new resources (many of the kitabs were lost due to the flooding);
and more
However, we need all the help we can get!
Please donate whatever you can. It will be deeply appreciated by not only Macalin Abduqadir, but the community that has been impacted. Every dollar will be of benefit to those in need and to those who give Insha'Allah Ta'ala.
