Hello, my name is Lydia, I'm happy to be receiving funds for Arwa and her family in Gaza -
My name is Arwa, also known as Um Ahmad. I am a widowed mother of eight children living in Gaza. Our home was reduced to rubble by an airstrike, and we now survive in a tent with no protection from the sweltering heat or bitter cold.
In the most recent war, I lost my beloved husband — our family’s strength and provider. Since then, I’ve had no source of income, and our daily struggle has become unimaginable. We lack food, clothing, basic hygiene items, and the simplest comfort of shelter. Every day is a battle to keep my children safe and hopeful.
My family’s needs are many, and every donation can be life-changing:
Rebuild our destroyed home so my children can have safety and stability
Provide basic essentials: food, clothing, hygiene items, and shelter
Support education: one son studies dentistry in Egypt, another studies engineering in Gaza, and my younger children are trying to continue school despite all odds
Search for my missing son: Abdullah disappeared on October 7, 2023 — I need legal assistance to search for him in Israeli prisons, but cannot afford it
Our situation touches generations — my elderly mother requires ongoing medical care, and I also care for my brother who suffers from a mental illness.
I dream of rebuilding our life and giving my children the future they deserve. A future with education, safety, and dignity.
We’re hoping to raise $100,000 to cover rebuilding costs, basic living needs, tuition, and legal support. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to healing and survival.
Please help us. If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign is also a lifeline.
With deepest gratitude, Arwa & family
