Greetings!

This funding request is dedicated to my friend & co-worker Laurence Martinez, who is currently going through one of the toughest times of his life. Laurence is hard-working, honest, and a pet lover who has always done his best to take care of his family, pets, and those around him.

A few days ago, on February 14th, he lost his home in a devastating fire. The fire was caused by an electrical issue, and sadly, Laurence lost not only his home but also his two beloved cats Garfield and Oatmeal went missing and have yet to find them!

The loss of 2 of his 5 pets was a big trauma for him, as they were a constant source of comfort and joy in his life.

As if losing his home and pets wasn't enough, the insurance company is causing difficulties and they continue to give the run around because of money owed to the home mortgage and taxes. This is due to a combination of long-term COVID and being a cancer survivor which left Laurence’s Dad, Mr. Martinez hospitalized from 2020 to 2021.

During this time, Mr. Martinez was unable to keep up with the payments on the house, so Laurence took over the responsibilities while his dad took the time to recuperate. This has left Laurence in a very hopeless position, as he now faces the very real possibility of becoming homeless.

Laurence has always been a provider for his family, including both his parents and his younger brother, as well as his two cats & three dogs Bentley, Mystique, and Oakley. He is a dedicated lifeguard at a private residence, where he works tirelessly to keep families and children safe from harm. Aside from his work duties, Laurence has earned the trust and respect from the residents he serves and protects - creating genuine friendships within the community he serves.

Now, with no home and no means to repair or replace it, Laurence is facing the possibility of having to give up his dogs and his family being left without a place to call home.

Just imagine a man who is taking responsibility for his whole family, who has lost 2 loving pets, lost his home, can’t afford to repair it, and is now afraid of becoming homeless. As a friend, I couldn't sit and watch this unfold. Join us on the journey to "Rise Up and Rebuild".

Laurence has established a reputation for being a reliable and dedicated employee and friend. He has always been there for others. Now it's time for us to be there for him. This is where we need your help! We are asking for your support to help Laurance and his family get back on their feet.
