Help Us Rebuild a Home, and a Life, for a Man Who’s Helped So Many

Somewhere not far from where you live, a man named Brian Boone, a man known for giving the shirt off his back, for making people laugh when they needed it most, for being that kind of good soul that so many love, is now living in conditions no one should ever endure.

For over 50 years, he’s been the kind of person everyone wants in their corner: generous, joyful, always lifting others. But today, he’s in crisis. The photos you see aren’t from an abandoned house or a condemned property. They’re from his home. The place he sleeps, eats, and tries to survive. Mold is spreading across the ceiling. His bedroom roof has collapsed and is held up by 2x4s. Water damage has rotted the structure. The decay is overwhelming. This isn’t just unlivable; it’s dangerous.

And yet, he has nowhere else to go.

He contacted me recently, humbly asking for help selling his home. When I walked in, I was in shock. And I knew: this wasn’t about a transaction. This was about a rescue.

Because of various struggles and devastating life changes, he’s lost almost everything. He’s now trapped. His house is too far gone to be repaired, but selling it won’t give him nearly enough to start over. Even if he did sell, he wouldn't walk away with enough to cover a used mobile home, let alone a safe place to land.

We’re not okay with that.

This man, our friend, our brother, deserves better. And we believe this is where we come in. Where community shows up. Where strangers become neighbors. Where love gets its hands dirty and builds something beautiful out of brokenness.

Our goal is to raise $75,000 to provide him with a clean, safe, dignified place to live. This will cover the cost of clearing and excavating the land, which is fully overgrown and overwhelming in and of itself, providing him with a new home, and covering the cost of what it is going to take to get him the ongoing help he so desperately needs.

Whether it’s a new or used mobile home, tiny house, or small cottage on his land, we want to rebuild what’s been lost and give him back something no one should ever lose: hope.

Here’s how you can help:

1. Donate whatever you can. Every dollar matters—$10, $25, $100, or more.

2. Share this story. Post it, email it, talk about it. Let’s light up this corner of the world with compassion.

3. Volunteer or connect us. If you're part of a church, ministry team, contractor crew, or nonprofit, reach out. Let’s rebuild this together.

This isn’t about charity. It’s about dignity. About not turning a blind eye to the need right in our backyard. About being the kind of people who act when someone cries for help, even if the cry is silent.

Let’s rally for this man like he’s family. Because he is.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, for caring, and for proving that hope isn’t gone; it just needs a place to land.

With love and resolve,
Marcus & Family
