Help Rebuild a Home for a Family Devastated by War

My dear friend, Baraa, and her family have lost almost everything. Once living in a beautiful neighborhood in Gaza City, she and her five siblings each had homes filled with love, laughter, and the dreams of their children. But the war changed everything.
Baraa, her husband, and their two young sons once had a home of their own, a place of warmth and security. Now, that same home, partially damaged, is no longer just for them. It has become a refuge for her four sisters and their children after they lost everything. Her brother and his family now live in a tent, and her four sisters, along with their children, have no choice but to crowd into the only structure still standing.
The images here tell their heartbreaking story.
- The first picture is of a childhood photo of my friend and her brother. The only thing he found when he returned to the rubble of his destroyed home. Everything else was gone.
- The second is of her youngest son covering his ears during the bombardment, terrified. No child should have to live through this.
- The third picture shows her two young sons sleeping on the floor in Rafah, exhausted but with no real place to rest.
- The last picture, taken after the ceasefire, shows the toll of war. Her boys still can’t sleep through the night. They can’t fall asleep without holding each other’s hands, afraid they won’t wake up.
We are raising $30,000 to repair her home so it can safely shelter her children, her siblings, and their kids.
This war has taken so much from them: their homes, their security, their sense of peace, but it has not taken away their hope for a better tomorrow or their love and care for one another.
