My name is Kimberley, I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my dear friend Jerome who recently lost his home during Hurricane Melissa in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.

When the storm hit, the area was battered by 185 mph winds. My friend was inside his house when the roof was torn off. With debris flying and the walls shaking, he had no choice but to take shelter under his bed, hoping the worst would pass. But soon after, pieces of debris started crashing inside, and he realized it was no longer safe to stay.

In the middle of the storm — with hurricane-force winds raging around him — he had to scramble through the wind and rain to his grandparents’ house, nearly 400 yards away. Thankfully, he made it there safely, but his home is now completely destroyed.

He’s lost most of his belongings and has nowhere to live while he tries to rebuild. The funds raised here will go directly toward replacing his roof, repairing structural damage, and helping him get basic essentials like clothes, food, and bedding.

My friend is a kind, hardworking person who would never ask for help himself, but right now he truly needs it. Every little bit counts — whether it’s a donation, a share, or a few kind words.
