This is my first time ever asking for help! I'm in a very scary situation where flooding during Hurricane Milton destroyed the home I planned to live in for the rest of my life. I am a Floridian born and raised and never thought EVER that this could happen to me. I'm not in a flood zone and therefore, had no flood insurance. I lost my home and my car in one swoop and unfortunately, single and soon to retire, I do not have a nest egg to repair my home. I am receiving assistance from FEMA but not enough. I have applied for a Disaster Loan (to be paid back) but the application states there are delays on funding being approved from Congress. As a last-ditch effort, I am reaching out for any kind of help.
The process to rebuild my home has started and I've posted pictures below. I am currently waiting for the home to dry out as it sat in water for 6 days before the pumping could begin and almost everything was lost including my car and my daughter's car. I lost ALL my appliances. All the floors and subfloors have to be replaced and rebuild the bottom half of the walls. I will need a new A/C unit and new cabinets to replace the ones lost to mold and moisture. So, when I say anything will help, I mean it! I am grateful for FEMA but it is a long way from getting back to a sub-normal life. I will not be able to return to my home until late December or January and am currently living in a Red Roof Inn. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am also praying for all that have been affected by these storms. I truly know your pain! Any donation at all, nothing is too small. Thank you in advance. Rest assured every penny will be used to put my house back to livable!
