My dad, Dave Marketon, is a multi-generation farmer who has dedicated his life to caring for the land and his livestock. On December 17, 2025, tragedy struck when a fire destroyed his calf barn. Unfortunately, insurance is unable to help much with the loss, leaving him with little hope and ashes where years of hard work once stood. The loss is devastating—not just in terms of the building, but also the equipment and about 40 calves that were lost in the fire. For my dad, farming is more than a job; it's a way of life built on early mornings, long nights, and an unwavering commitment to his animals and community. He is the kind of man who would never ask for help himself, quietly carrying the weight of responsibility and doing what needs to be done without complaint. This loss is more than a building—it represents years of sacrifice, love, and dedication gone in a single night. In small farming communities, we survive by pulling each other together when one of our own is hurting. My family has spent generations contributing to that spirit—showing up, lending a hand, and doing the hard work that keeps food on tables far beyond their own town. Now, we are asking for help on his behalf. Your support will go directly toward rebuilding the barn, replacing essential equipment, and helping recover from the loss of the fire. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference and help restore hope to a man who has always given so much to others.
