Family Farm Wood Shop Burns Down

I am writing this with a heavy heart, seeking the support and kindness of our friends, family and community during a very difficult time for my family. A few days ago, our family farm was struck by a devastating tragedy. The wood shop, which my father has lovingly built and maintained for many years, was consumed by a fierce fire. It was a total loss. Many of the tools, equipment, and memories built over decades are irreplaceable. What hurts even more is that this wood shop has been much more than just a place to work—it has been a safe haven for our family, especially for our children and grandchildren, who learned the art of woodworking there. It’s a space filled with love, laughter, and the preservation of our family’s legacy.

This wood shop holds even deeper significance—it once served as a church, a place where hundreds of children learned about Jesus. "It’s where I was baptized many moons ago, and it holds countless memories of my youth. Summers spent camping out, playing sardines, worshiping together, and growing up with people who felt more like family than anything else. This family—our church family—has been my home away from home. Gogo (Greg/BillyBob), is a man who has given the clothes off his back to help others, fed hundreds, loved the unloved, and has been a mentor to so many"(Amelia Kay Roate). As we try to process this loss, we are also facing the overwhelming task of tearing down the silos that have been compromised from the heat and clean up. The cost of cleanup and reconstruction is far beyond what we can manage on our own.
