“Help Rebecca’s medical Journey”

My name is Julie,

My best friend Rebecca has been dealing and battling with health issues for years. From emergency brain surgery to many more years of ongoing medical and health issues, she has times of falling, walking into walls, and has lost most vision in her right eye since the surgery in 2010. She learned 5 years ago her brain tumor has grown back and is now dealing with loss of mobility in her right hand, wrist, and arm. She has never been one to let people know what she is or still is going through with her health, always working hard, and never lets anything stop her.

Recently, in December 2023, Rebecca had to have another surgery that's landed her learning how to do everything with her left arm. She had 5 surgeries at one time for her right hand and wrist, and it has been a year of losing more and more of her dominant arm's mobility. Me being that friend she does communicate her health with, this year I have had to watch her struggle not just with her health but with providing help for her family. Her husband is working full-time, and since December 2023, Rebecca has been left unable to work. Both of these two work hard and never stop for themselves or their own health. Rebecca has not physically but emotionally and mentally been affected from believing in a doctor that this would help her be able to have a less painful life. But when you get hurt from someone else, it's hard to believe and take in you did not do this to yourself.

Rebecca is not one to ask anyone for help, and knowing this and seeing her struggling to be able to get the help she needs for her arm and brain is what made me come here to ask others for help for Rebecca and her family. Knowing they are falling behind on bills and struggling with other bills for the house and hearing her say she can't afford to go to get treatment for both her arm and brain due to it being hours away and finances for the house being more important breaks me. Knowing she is one that has stopped her life a number of times to help others and always put everything and everyone before her own health makes me want to help her actually afford to take the time to get the help.
