Help Rebecca Beat Cervical Cancer
Rebecca Sanchez is a loving, and loyal daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and coworker. Rebecca has always been a huge support to her friends and family, in numerous ways. Rebecca was able to accomplish many things in her 31 years, she is a true humanitarian. After graduating with her undergraduate, she volunteered 14 months of her life to the Peace Corps. In that time she found her true passion, social work. While working on her masters degree in social work she dedicated her career and life to helping others. After the peace corps she returned to her hometown where she was a victim advocate at the local domestic violence shelter. From there she worked as a developmental specialist helping children with developmental delays. She is now a licensed master social worker who currently works full time for the New Mexico Department of Health where she tries to make an impact in her community through public health, Rebecca also works with and supports many different organizations within her community. Rebecca has always been very careful with her health, by eating well, staying in shape, and faithfuly having yearly check-ups, regardless of her care, in 2019, Rebecca suffered from sever back and pelvic pain which went misdiagnosed by different doctors. In October of 2020 when the pain worsened, Rebecca was diagnosed with fourth stage endocervical cancer. As her passion to help others never ceased, she is still working full time while undergoing six rounds of 3 very strong and very harsh chemotherapies, she finished her 6th round of chemotherapy on March 17th. Fourth stage cervical cancer is a long and difficult battle, that Rebecca will continue to fight, and with your contribution Rebecca may have a chance at a future.
