Hello, my name is Rebecca Gordon and I am a single mother of 5 children. I have been fighting for them for years and have just received the news that I'm going to have to fight even harder...

Which is why I'm reaching out for help.

After years of not being able to see a doctor due to struggles with getting health care, I finally got into a practice that had a sliding scale fee. A biopsy was done, as hard as this is to talk about, on my vulva due to large skin changes. The biopsy came back as VIN 3, which is a late-stage pre-cancer, and according to my doctor, once the area is surgically removed, they often find cancer stage one within the tissue (biopsy is done on the edge of the site; I have about a 3-inch site).

Until I see the oncologist I was just referred to, I don't have a lot of answers, but I do have a few answers... 1) I will be having a heavily invasive surgery leaving me without work for 6-8 weeks at best. 2) I will have medical bills since the oncologist is not a part of the sliding scale practice, and last but not least, 3) I will still have to manage to care for my children in this time.

I plan to work as much overtime as humanly possible between now and my surgery, but there is only so much I can do to save. Our finances have always been so tight. I also plan to try and sell some of my crafts in an effort to bring in more money, but I won't have long to save before the surgery.

So I am reaching out to you all, hoping and praying with all my heart that you can donate even $5.00 towards ensuring my children will be okay through all this, that while I'm fighting for our future, we won't lose our home or our stability. Every little bit helps as it's more than I would have had without you ❤️

To let you know where your money will go... It will help pay for medical appointments and living expenses for while I am out of work, and potentially even Christmas for the kids since the timing is leaving me no time to save before then ❤️
