Help Reahna Heal After Severe Accident
Donation protected
On April 11th, my family was in a horrible accident on an interstate in Kentucky. Myself, my wife, our daughter, and our granddaughter were all removed from the vehicle and taken to the hospital. While my wife's and my granddaughter's injuries were mostly cuts and bruises, and mine, while still ongoing, are not as serious as our daughter's. Reahna was trapped between the back seat and front seat which were forced together. Reahna had emergency surgery on the morning of the 12th at the University of Kentucky. Reahna has had 2 screws placed installed into her pelvis, one on each side, a rod installed into the sacrum, and 5 broken ribs. Recovery starts with "no weight bearing for 2 months," which anyone that knows Reahna knows that this will not be easy for her as she is always on the go, taking our 16-year-old granddaughter to practices and school functions. Reahna was finally well enough to make the 11-hour medical transport from Kentucky back to Virginia on Saturday. That alone kept her in severe pain for the entire trip. She has started rehab but will have months and months of pain and rehab. We are all working to keep things going, keep her daughter going, and keep Reahna's spirits high if possible. It is hard to see your daughter screaming in pain. I have never felt so helpless.
Reahna is the type of person that gives so much to so many. She has been a Girl Scout leader for many years. She works with the local theater group that her daughter is part of. Always ready to help family and friends. She is a special lady.
It is early in this journey. Bills will start coming in. She will not be able to work for at least 2 months. She will need everyone's prayers and help.
