We’re reaching out to our friends, family and wider community to help support our mate Re’a, who is currently facing a serious knee injury and approximately $9,000 in medical expenses.

Re’a recently received the results from his MRI, which confirmed a significant amount of damage to his knee:

Complete ACL tear

Full-thickness cartilage injury to the outer part of his thigh bone

A piece of cartilage has broken off and is floating inside the knee joint

A low-grade injury to a ligament at the back/outer corner of the knee

A partial tear to the lateral meniscus, along with a small additional tear

This injury means Re’a is facing a difficult recovery and will need significant medical treatment before he can return to work and doing the things he loves.

What makes this situation even more difficult is that Re’a is the main provider for his family of six and is currently having to take time away from work because of his injury. On top of this, Re’a is not an Australian citizen and does not have Medicare, meaning he does not have the same access to subsidised medical care and is facing the full financial burden of his treatment.

As his friends, we want to take some of that pressure off his shoulders and help Re’a and his family through what is going to be a challenging period.

Our goal is to raise just over $9,000 to help cover his medical expenses and give him the financial support he needs while he focuses on recovering.
