I am a first-generation and international student from Brazil, and I am graduating on May 8 with a Master of Legal Studies from Northern Kentucky University (NKU). My parents have struggled to cover my tuition from my very first day at NKU, but they kept going and made major sacrifices to invest in my education because they believe education is the only path to a better life. I have been working side jobs to help them cover part of it, but it's not enough. As an international student, my tuition is always charged out-of-state, making it even more challenging to keep up with the costs.
Right now, I owe NKU a significant amount, and I need help to pay off my remaining balance so I can graduate and start my new life in the U.S. I have been applying for job opportunities, volunteering for good causes, attending networking events, and managing the anxiety that comes with being an immigrant starting a new life in a new country. Despite these efforts, I am facing a financial hurdle that I cannot overcome alone.
Any support you can offer would mean the world to me. Thank you for believing in my journey and helping me reach this milestone. Your kindness will make a lasting difference in my life, and I am deeply grateful for your support.
