In the heart of Madagascar, a young boy named Rayan dreams of a brighter future. Rayan, now an adolescent, has faced more challenges in his short life than many of us can imagine. Born with a congenital heart disease, Rayan's journey has been one of resilience, hope, and the unwavering love of his mother, Hanitra.

A Journey of Survival

Rayan's story began in 2017 when he was just 8 years old. His heart condition, which had no cure or treatment options in Madagascar, required urgent medical intervention. Thanks to the generosity of a Spanish NGO and private donors, Rayan and his mother travelled to Barcelona. There, at the renowned Sant Joan de Déu Children's Hospital, Rayan underwent his first heart surgery. The operation was a partial success, allowing him to return home with medication to manage his condition.

However, life had more trials in store for Rayan. In 2022, at the age of 13, his health deteriorated once again. The same NGO and kind-hearted donors stepped in, enabling Rayan to travel back to Barcelona for two more critical surgeries. These operations stabilized his condition, but Rayan now requires lifelong medication to control arrhythmias.

The Struggles of Daily Life

Madagascar is a country in deep economic depression, and for families like Rayan's, daily life is a constant struggle. Hanitra, Rayan's mother, works tirelessly as a domestic worker to support her three children. Despite her hard work, the family's annual income barely covers their basic needs.

Rayan, the youngest of the three siblings, has always been a bright and determined student despite his health condition. Hanitra dreams of providing him with a higher level of education at a French school in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar. This education would open doors to opportunities that could change Rayan's life forever.

A Personal Connection

I first met Rayan and his mother, Hanitra, in 2016 when she was helping me take care of my own baby. Over the years, I have been actively involved in Rayan's medical expatriations, witnessing first-hand the challenges and triumphs of his journey. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to provide the financial support that I once could. This is why I am reaching out to you, compassionate individuals, to help make Rayan's dream a reality.

A Call for Help

Rayan has just passed the entry exams for one of the french schools in Antanarivo, the capital of Madagascar. The annual school fees for this education are 800 euros, with an additional 200 euros needed for books, uniforms, and materials. This total of 1,000 euros is equivalent to the family's entire annual income, making it an impossible dream without help.
