On Monday, April 20, a wildfire began spreading through Brantley County. By April 21 at around 2:00 PM, it reached my mother-in-law Crystal’s home. Within about 8 minutes, her house was completely destroyed.
Crystal is 46 years old and was living with her husband, Erick. They lost everything in the fire.
Her home was not just a house it was her safe place, her memories, and everything she had built over many years. In a matter of minutes, it was completely gone.
To make this even more difficult, Crystal did not have homeowner’s insurance, so there is no financial support to help replace what was lost. She is now starting completely from zero.
Crystal also has 3 cats and 4 dogs. One of her dogs was injured because he refused to leave the property during the fire. We are currently making sure she receives proper care.
Right now, Crystal is living in a camper at a camper ground. While her son (my honey), myself, and a few friends and family are helping as much as we can, it is not enough to cover everything she needs to rebuild her life.
Who I am / Where I am from / Relationship
My name is Angelica and Crystal is my mother-in-law. My honey is her son, and we are directly involved in supporting her through this devastating loss and helping her get back on her feet.
How the funds will be used:
All funds raised will go directly to helping Crystal recover and rebuild her life after losing her home completely in the fire. The money will be used for:
-A down payment for a new home or safe long term housing
-Temporary living expenses while she transitions from the camper
-Basic necessities such as food, clothing, and daily living needs
-Emergency expenses related to the fire recovery
-Care, food, and medical support for her pets
Crystal had no homeowner’s insurance, so she is truly starting over with nothing.
We will use every donation exactly as described to help her regain stability, safety, and a place to call home again. If you are unable to donate, we deeply appreciate you sharing this campaign. Prayers and support are also greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and compassion during this incredibly difficult time.
