Help Ray Tolan Recover After House Fire
Donation protected
I’m not sure where to start. Asking for help isn’t easy, but our family could definitely use some now. I grew up in the Triangle. My father, Ray Tolan, has been an artist in the area for decades. He’s hosted and collaborated in countless art shows, fundraisers, and joint works throughout Carrboro, Chapel Hill, and Durham. He was diagnosed with Afib a number of years back along with Mitral Valve Prolapse that slowed his step, but never stopped him from creating. He’s a rugged sort, that’s always been so proud of working with his hands. When Amyloid Angiopathy (similar to Atypical Parkinsons) robbed him of that ability about 10 years ago, he could no longer do what he loved. Being the positive man he is, he persevered as best he could, but was largely relegated to being stuck at home with little function of his motor skills and tremors that wrack his body. This morning he was dealt another devastating blow. His home burned to the ground and he lost everything. Thankfully, he, my stepmother and their three dogs made it out safely, so we’re thankful beyond measure. I know he’ll take it in stride and bounce back like he always has. But some help would be greatly appreciated. Please donate, share this story, spread the word in any way possible. We would be incredibly grateful.
