Hello everyone, I am Rabonae Morris, an international student studying Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting at the Brandon University in Manitoba, Canada. Towards the ending of my second semester in college, the pandemic emerged, causing an unprecedented wave of chaos for families across the globe. As a result, my father who sponsors my college expenses was no longer able to fund my tuition, and on the other hand, my mother has been diagnosed with Lupus since I started college. This all affected my schooling, as I had to cut down on the number of courses that I had to do per semester which extended me stay at university to obtain the my credits.

As an international student, things became more difficult and tough to manage as I did not have adequate support. All I could think of was to pray and hope that things would change for the better, so that my father could be able to raise the funds required for me to complete my studies.

I see myself working in several financial institutions as a Chartered Accountant across the world, giving back to my home country, Jamaica and helping students who are less fortunate like myself in the near future to come. However, my ability to continue my studies is seriously threatened because I am unable to continue with my studies due to the fact that my family and I are unable to fund my college tuition fees for this year. My parents unfortunately, still haven’t been able to come up with the funds required for me to remain in school, due to the economic situation in my home country, Jamaica and my mother’s illness. It has been a very difficult experience to get by daily for me and my parents because I still have to pay bills and other upkeeps since the start of the pandemic.

In conclusion, I am starting this fundraising campaign in faith to raise a total sum of $24, 697.00 as my study permit expires very soon and for me to extend my permit, I need to pay all my tuition fee for this year and also pay to be an active student who is to be enrolled before June 25, 2022. This appears to be my very last option as I am in great need of every help I can get given that time is of the essence. Any contribution to this cause would be highly appreciated.
