My dad is amazing and a good man! He recently was diagnosed with grade 4 brain cancer, after being incorrectly told his headaches and memory loss was attributed to old age. This was a shock, completely unexpected for all of us, and had not been financially planned for. The cancer had likely been there for a couple of years but was discovered when he started having seizures a few weeks ago and his doctor ordered a MRI and CT. It was devastating news. Just over a year and a half ago, my dad, while working security, was attacked by a homeless woman who threw a metal beam at his head. He went to the hospital and the doctors neglected to do an xray, CT, and MRI to ensure there wasn’t any internal damage, citing that because he didn’t lose consciousness he didn’t need one, then gave him a clean bill of health. While the cancer likely already existed at that point, if they had done the proper treatment they would have caught it and there would be more treatments options! Instead, when he returned saying he was having memory loss and headaches, they said it was likely dementia and due to old age. The doctors are saying the trauma to his head likely accelerated the cancer. Dad is currently at a rehab health facility in San Bernardino to try to gain his strength to come home and be with his family. He will need continued care for his medications and to ensure he has what he needs. Dad wants to come home and fight and he needs help with this unexpected situation. I am in Virginia and doing all I can remotely and as I can come in to town. Please consider donating to help this amazing man!
