Help Ray Horton Jr Kick Cancer

Donation protected

** UPDATE 7.22.2021 ***

First of all, my wife Amy and I want to thank you all for your generous donations.  We are thrilled with the outpouring of support and can't think of enough words to express our gratitude.

First off, Ray is feeling okay.  He's due to start chemo and immunotherapy July 30th (finally!) after a bout with pneumonia and some other speed bumps along the way, he's finally going to get more treatment.  He successfully completed his radiation treatments on both his lungs and his brain.  That was the most important step in his treatment thus far we were told, and he handled it like the stud that he is.

In the meantime, Ray has asked Amy to be his power of attorney.  In addition to that, he's asked that we set up a separate, joint checking account for him under our names so that we can withdraw the funds and pay any outstanding bills directly.  Having money directly deposited into his personal account could mess up his Medicaid benefits and then he'd really be in a bind.

We appreciate your understanding in all of this and can assure you that all your donations will be used to help Ray Jr. with his bills, treatment and care.  Thank you all and God Bless.

This is Ray Horton Jr.  On 5/21/21 he was diagnosed with Stage 3b lung cancer.  Upon further review of his scans and MRI, he learned that it had traveled to his brain and would need to begin aggressive radiation treatment.  Now a stage 4 situation, he's in dire need of our support and help.

Ray Jr. started with some breathing issues in November of 2020.  Obviously, fearing COVID (and testing negative twice) the condition improved slightly by Christmas.  In January, the problems came back with a vengeance and his doctor diagnosed him with pneumonia.  After months of the condition lingering, they decided to do a "deeper dive" into the issue.  After multiple cancellations to get his PET scan done due to insurance or technical issues he finally had the procedure done and was given this horrible diagnosis, possibly months too late.  I am pleading for your thoughts, prayers and generosity.

Ray Jr. is one of the truest and best friends I've ever known.  He is always there to share a joke or a beer and to watch the game.  He is one of the greatest edge-of-your-seat storytellers and his ability to deliver a punchline is second to none.  He is a top notch horseshoe player, pool shark and karaoke superstar.  More than anything he loves his family and friends with all his heart and they (including my two little ones) love him in return.

His FMLA time is about to expire along with his insurance.  He currently has no income and while we've had him apply for Medicaid and assistance, the wheels on that turn real slow.  If there's anything you can do to help my friend, our friend, my family and his will be eternally grateful.

Thank you and God bless
