Help Ray Heal – Support His Kidney Transplant Journey

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lauren, and I’m fundraising for my incredible brother, Ray, who has been bravely battling kidney cancer since 2019.

That year, Ray underwent surgery to remove one of his kidneys after being diagnosed with cancer. We were so relieved and thankful when he went into remission. Sadly, the medication that helped save his life has now severely damaged his remaining kidney. It is no longer functioning, and Ray is currently on dialysis to stay alive while he awaits a life-saving kidney transplant.

Why We’re Asking for Help
Ray is one of the strongest people I know, but this journey has taken a serious toll—physically, emotionally, and financially. He’s currently off work while his PICC line heals and will need even more time off if and when he receives a transplant. The time away from work, along with mounting medical expenses, has placed a heavy burden on him and his family.

We’re hoping to raise funds to help cover:
• Ongoing medical bills and treatment costs
• Lost income while Ray is unable to work
• Living expenses during his recovery

Your support will help ease this burden and allow Ray to focus on what matters most: healing and staying strong.

A Bit About Ray
Ray is the kind of person who never wants anyone to know when he’s struggling. Even when he’s not feeling well, he keeps it to himself and still tries to make everyone around him laugh. He’s always been the first to show up when someone else needs help—and now, he’s the one who could use some support.

He’s incredibly close with his wife, Teri, and their three kids—Sydney, Matthew, and Raymond—who mean the world to him. He also loves their dog Maverick and granddog Duke, who he treats like part of the family (because they are).

Ray is a huge Kenny Chesney fan and has always loved the beach life. He and his family lived in Florida for 10 years before moving back home to Indiana in 2018 to be closer to all of us. He loves to sing and is always up for karaoke nights with family and friends—any excuse to spend time with the people he loves most.

As his little sister—almost 18 years younger—big brother doesn’t even begin to cover it. When I was a kid, I used to tell everyone, “My brother is as big as a house.” I always felt safe when I was with him, and I know our siblings feel the same. We’re all grown now, but he still treats us like we’re little kids in the best, most protective way. He’s the best big brother anyone could ask for.
