Help Ray get his eyesight back
Donation protected
Recently, my beloved husband, Ray, woke up to realize that he had lost his vision almost entirely. Ray had been experiencing some vision issues. But, now the drop in his ability to see is dramatic.
A vital and active person, he is now having considerable difficulty even navigating around our home and cannot complete many everyday functions we consider so simple such as dialing a telephone, using computer to read or send text messages, or even seeing the television screen are at this time no longer possible. He cannot currently see our pets, our home, read, or even write. He is an avid reader, a collector of books, and a talented writer whose skills and musings are much appreciated by his many friends and family members and he enjoys photography. But, now he cannot even see my face unless I am very close to his and even then it is not clear to him. He has lost the ability to participate in many of the activities that were so much an integral part of his life like taking care of our outdoor animals, gardening, tinkering and the like as well as interacting with others in our neighborhood and community or just being able to enjoy the beauty around us. It is heartbreaking for both of us especially given that his is such a brilliant, caring and compassionate man.
The modifications we have already had to make in our daily lives to accommodate these dramatic changes in his vision and to keep him safe have been extensive and the impact on him has been drastic. I am assisting as much as I can but as you can imagine this is very difficult for both of us and very stressful which is not at all good for him the doctors advise us.
Ray’s many friends and family members have been wonderfully kind, providing amazing and inspiring emotional support which we cherish and are keeping us in their prayers. We are so thankful for all this. It has kept us going and I continue to help him maintain contact with them whenever possible.
He has already undergone considerable medical analysis at our local hospital which has included extensive blood work, EKG’s, MRI’s and various CAT Scans and we continue to seek medical assistance to find and answer and hopefully a solution. We do not have an answer yet but remain positive in our search. Unfortunately, tests and consultations are already resulting in mounting medical bills which vastly exceed our ability to pay. We are advised that these costs will continue and escalate considerably over the next few months and are doing whatever we can to find ways to cover these dramatically mounting medical expenses.
Those who know Ray, realize that he is a proud and loving man with a strong desire to help others. So, I am asking you to take this opportunity to help him in this most difficult of times in hopes that he will be able to return to his beloved life and his vision will be restored. It is for this reason I am setting up this fund to cover some of his current and future medical related expenses. This will give him a chance to focus on recovery and healing rather than on growing cost of his continued pursuit of treatment and related costs for appointments, treatments, medication, and services.
We face this daunting challenge together, but we are hopeful for the future. And, once again, I am very grateful to have such good friends and family and thankful as always to have Ray by my side. I will keep you all updated and I will say again that I am very grateful for all of you for your friendship and inspiration. Please join me in telling Ray, as I do every day, that he is loved, appreciated and treasured and that we support him is this most difficult of times.
