After several miss-diagnosis and visits to different doctors my dad was diagnosed on 08/17/2018 with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). My dad was admitted to Albany Medical Center and will be there for approximately 4-6 weeks. He’s already received 7 days of chemo, and is expected to possibly receive more during his stay.
Currently we are waiting on his first bone marrow biopsy results in order for the doctors to give a prognosis and guide them in which direction for treatment going forward.
Both my parents work full time jobs to support our family, due to my dad’s illness neither of my parents are working. My mom sits by his side every day to keep my dad motivated and makes sure he’s walking and eating properly. Because of the chemo my dad’s appetite is very poor and she’s trying her best to find the right food for him on a daily basis.
My older sister is left to take care of the home and my three younger sisters.
I’m asking for donations to help my parents with medical bills, gas money back and forth to doctor appts, meals for while they’re at the hospital, and any other bills that may arise.
