Help Ray Get His Tumor Removal Surgery

On behalf of our loving father, Ramon (Ray) Martinez, we truly appreciate you taking a moment to read our story. Some of you may know Ray as a friendly, funny, and hardworking man with a warm personality. Others may know him as a husband, son, nephew, cousin, friend, neighbor, or co-worker. To my 5 siblings and I, he is “dad.” Altogether we truly care about his well-being as he has always deeply cared for all of you. A week ago, following a routine exam, our dad was diagnosed with colon cancer. They found a large 10cm tumor in his large intestine that requires immediate surgery for removal. His surgery is scheduled for October 9, 2023. His insurance requires us to come up with an initial $4,700 to move forward with his surgery, otherwise, it will be canceled and postponed until next year. He remains the sole provider in his home and has always worked hard to provide for our family but we do not have the money to cover the surgery. So, my siblings and I have set up this GoFundMe to ensure that our dad has the support to cover necessary expenses starting with this surgery, and also for all the additional expenses beyond that like missed work, medical bills, medicines, further exams, tests, and procedures, etc. (approximately $7,200). Anyone who knows Ray knows what a loving and giving person he is; let’s show up for him in his time of need.
