Help Ray After Open Heart Surgery
Donation protected
Hey All!!
Our amazing and wonderful community member Ray suffered an emergency with their heart Friday night and after much worry and emergency cardiovascular surgery, they are stable at Stanford and expecting a week in the ICU at least.
They had just been fired from their job days prior and have lived with a heart condition for some time before this emergency.
!In fact! They had to DELAY this surgery because said recent employer required longer employment prior to such an operation. This medical emergency could have been avoided.
After surgery, doctors informed us that Rays aortic valve was completely ruptured and the tear in their aorta was extending to their leg. If they had not gotten the care they did when they, they would not be here today.
We are looking for monetary support for both care of them, but also for them to sustain housing and basic needs during their recovery, which will be the greater part of a year.
Funding breakdown: $6,745.90 to pay the remainder of Ray's insurance out-of-pocket max for their surgery and hospital stay. Remaining funds will be used to pay Ray's living expenses while they recover, purchase or rent medical equipment (walker, wheelchair, etc.), pay for rides to and from appointments, etc.
They also need folks to show up and donate their time and energy for their care if they can.
This Community is Strong and so is Ray.
