Dear friends,
We need your support through our challenging times.
Ravikanth is a 33 year old, caring husband and a doting father of a 2 year old girl. He holds Ph.D in Plant Genetics and breeding, from Agricultural university, Bapatla, AP, India, and aspires to be an Assistant Professor in the same field.
Six months ago, he was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM), a disease that gradually enlarges the heart leading to CHRONIC HEART FAILURE and reduces the heart capacity to pump blood to other organs.
Initially, he was given medications at his native, but as his heart condition had deteriorated further, the doctors recommended to get him registered for heart transplant, which is the only option that can help him survive.
He was registered for the heart transplant program in Jeevandan, through Apollo Hospitals, Jubileehills in December 2019.
The treatment cost estimate was given to be 34 Lakhs INR (~50000 USD), which we are pooling through our own finances, family and relatives.
While he was waiting for the transplant, his condition is getting deteriorated further and he has been getting hospitalized multiple times since last 6 weeks leading to end organ damage.
Each hospitalization is levying huge bills and gradually draining out the reserve we kept for the Heart transplantation.
Now, as his condition has deteriorated further, the doctors are looking to put him on bridge support (Intra Aortic Balloon Support - IABP) until a suitable cadaver organ is available, which requires him to be maintained in the Cath ICU until the transplant.
The bridging mechanism needs continuous monitoring only in Cath ICU which may cost upto 1 Lakh INR (~1500 USD) per day. This is in addition to the transplant and post transplant expenses and an unplanned.
Being an agrarian family, bearing this treatment cost became a huge burden to his family.
Hence, this campaign is brought to this platform by his wife.
Please help us get through this challenging times and save my husband as we want him to see him back home; happy and healthy.
Any contribution will be immensely helpful to us.
There is no donation that is too small.
Do contribute, share the information with your friends and family.
Thank you.
