Help Ravenscroft Family With Bills

Hello - my name is Alex and I'm the disabled parent of a three year old child, and due to a mix up with our local council my family and I have found ourselves £1,300 in debt with only ten days to pay it.

The mix up occured because the council failed to inform us that for 15 months the direct debit we'd set up for our monthly council tax was not going through. We weren't made aware of this mistake until recent months, but due to the amount of the bill they are unable to create a payment plan for us, and they have given us ten days to pay back this debt.

We've been in contact with the council and have tried multiple times to arrange payments but have been unsuccessful. Both me and my partner work part time but we do not have the income or savings to pay this back.
