Raven is my affectionate toy poodle, and she’s always been the heart of our home. Last December, she had her first litter of puppies and handled motherhood with so much love. After the puppies arrived, I noticed Raven was struggling to hold her urine, but I thought it was just a normal change after having puppies. As time went on, her symptoms didn’t improve, and I assumed it was something many female dogs experience after giving birth. Recently, when Raven came into heat again, her condition worsened. She started leaking urine more often, but her appetite and energy seemed okay. Just this week, everything changed—she stopped eating, became uncomfortable, and started hiding from us. When she threw up on me, I knew something was seriously wrong and took her to the vet right away. This morning, the vet told me Raven has a major kidney infection and a crystallized kidney stone so large it fills her bladder, leaving no room for urine. I felt terrible, thinking I had missed the signs, but her heat cycle had masked a much bigger problem. Now, Raven needs urgent surgery to remove the stone, and the vet isn’t sure if she also has pyometra until they operate. The funds raised will cover Raven’s surgery, hospital stay, antibiotics, pain relief, and follow-up care. She’ll need to stay at the hospital for several days to receive strong antibiotics and pain injections, and tonight she will have surgery. This treatment will help lower her high white blood count, creatin, BUN, and liver enzymes, and most importantly, relieve her from the excruciating pain she’s experiencing. Raven is miserable right now, but with your help, she can get her life back and return to her loving, social self. Everyone who knows Raven loves her. She’s super friendly, loves meeting new people, and has a way of making everyone’s day brighter. People often ask to take pictures with her, and she’s given so much puppy love to those who needed it most. Raven is truly a people person, always ready to share affection and comfort.
