Firstly thank you for reading Ravens story. We are raising funds to pay for heart surgery for our 5 month old German Shepherd, Raven. We chose Raven from the rescue litter as she attached herself to us immediately and was the smallest. We felt we could give this little girl lots of love and a home for life with her new brother Lycan. We adopted her on September 6th and discovered on the 8th, when visiting our vet, that she had a severe heart murmur, likely related to a birth defect called, 'Patent Ductus Arteriosus'. This was confirmed by echocardiogram and her cardiologist. She needs surgery to close this duct or her little heart will fail and she will die between now and when she reaches 18 months according to Dr's best estimates.
Insurance will not cover her care, for this issue, as it is pre existing and was discovered before the 30 day wait time.
Purdue and her team at Med Vet and Springmill Pet Wellness have pulled out all the stops to get Raven this surgery ASAP. Everyday she waits, causes more heart damage, that will eventually be irreversible.
Please give this adorable girl, who just wants to live her best life, a chance to run, play and live a full, happy and healthy life. She is a rescue, her little heart is so full of love and has already overcome so much in her short life. She deserves a chance to live.
