Raven, my sweet ferret, has always been my little sidekick and a huge part of my life. A few days ago, she fell in her cage—something that’s never happened before. She started acting strangely, and at one point, she went completely limp. I was terrified I was going to lose her right then and there. Since then, things have only gotten worse. Raven has lost the use of her back legs and can’t move them at all now. She’s stopped eating on her own, so I’ve been blending her food into a milkshake just to get her to take in some nutrients. I’ve tried everything I can think of, from making sure she’s hydrated to giving her honey when she seems weak. Some moments she seems like herself, but other times, I’m scared I’m losing her.
I’ve called every vet in my area, but they all require a deposit or cash up front before they’ll even see her. Right now, I’m completely broke and out of options. I was up all night with her, helping her eat, potty, and just trying to comfort her. I’m desperate for help from other ferret owners or anyone who understands how much a pet can mean. Raven has been with me through so much, and I can’t imagine losing her now.
The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward emergency vet visits, medication, and anything else Raven needs to have a fighting chance. If you’re able to help, even a little, it would mean the world to both of us. Thank you for reading our story and for any support you can give.
