My name is Melissa Hamilton and I’m Raul Ruiz’s girlfriend/partner. Last month, our whole world was turned upside down - Raul was diagnosed with stage 4 cirrhosis of the liver, pancreatitis, colitis, kidney stones, COPD, Acities and Leukocytosis. If you are lucky enough to know Raul Ruiz, you have found a true & loyal friend. His family, his 3 boys, and his friends are his entire world. You also know him to be a stubborn, strong-willed man who would give you the shirt off his back in time of need.  Right now, Raul needs OUR help.  
Multiple trips to the Emergency Room and several stays in the hospital has left him weak and, at times, unable to stand. On top of all that, they have found a mass on his pancreas.  He’s had fevers and infections for most of this last month.  He’s lost 35 pounds and feels very tired and lethargic.  Most of his time is spent resting and trying to gain his strength back.  He is on numerous medications and is trying hard to do everything the doctors tell him.  A liver transplant has been discussed as an option, but that would be months down the road, if even possible.  He is unable to work or drive a vehicle.
