Donation protected
On October 30th, 2021, Rashidi Kerrison was in a serious mountain bike accident while preparing for the 2022 supercross season. He was riding downhill when his breaks failed, causing him to go head first over his handlebars. He suffered temporary paralysis, a broken neck, and broken hand.
Due to the location of the accident, EMTs had to hike a mile to the accident and Flight for Life him to the hospital. He required neck surgery the next day to fuse C6 and C7 of the spine. C2 and T1 are broken as well but inoperable. He will need to be in a neck collar for three months for the fractures to heal.
The accident has caused a large financial burden. The Life for Flight, the emergency neck surgery and the inability to work. As hard as it is to ask for help, Rashidi could use it. It is undetermined when he will be able to get on a bike again, but he is hopeful that it will be soon and he will come back stronger then ever.
