Rashi Dlugoff is one of the many survivors of the LA wildfires. Nothing remains of her home which burned down while she was out of state, rushing home to her dog. Luckily her friend who was at her home at the time was able to evacuate with Rashi’s dog and they were reunited at the airport. All of her personal items including items
inherited from her mother, her jewelry, her car, etc. were lost. It remains unclear what, if anything, will be covered by insurance.
This is the second time Rashi has lost everything in a wildfire, the first time was in the Woolsey Fire. She lost her husband a year and a half ago.
Currently, Rashi and her dog are staying with and being well loved by a friend in an area of LA that has yet to be evacuated, but concerns remain about the fires and what’s next. She emphasized her love and concern for the neighborhood/community that has been demolished.
Throughout our conversation Rashi remained grounded and at peace, while acknowledging the grief surrounding the depth of her losses. Her resiliency echoed through her words.
Please consider donating to help support Rashi as she, and her community, recover.
