Help Rashi Rebuild After Losing Everything in the Palisades Fire

On Tuesday, tragedy struck my brother, Rashi Kaslow, when his home in the Palisades Bowl, a unique and special working-class community in Pacific Palisades, was completely destroyed in the devastating Palisades Fire. The Palisades Bowl, a mobile home park, was home to Rashi and 180 other members of this tight-knit community. Sadly, all of their homes were lost in the fire, alongside over 5,000 other houses and businesses in the Pacific Palisades area.

Rashi, a skilled sailboat rigger working in Marina del Rey, lost everything he owned in the blaze. Among the countless possessions he lost were the tools of his trade—essential for his work—along with all his clothes, personal belongings, and, most heartbreakingly, the cherished keepsakes of our late mother, Allison Miner. For over 30 years, Rashi had lovingly preserved our mother’s personal items, a tangible connection to her remarkable legacy. All of it is now gone.

Rashi was uninsured, and the road ahead feels overwhelming. He is left with nothing but the strength of his spirit and the love of those around him. As his family, friends, and community, we are rallying together to help him rebuild his life from the ashes.

The funds raised will go directly to Rashi to:

Replace his essential work tools so he can continue his livelihood.

Purchase clothes, toiletries, and everyday necessities.

Begin the process of finding new housing.

Help him regain some of the stability he’s lost in this unimaginable disaster.

Rashi’s home in the Palisades Bowl wasn’t just a place to live; it was part of a rare and close-knit community of hardworking individuals and families, all of whom have been displaced by this tragedy.
