Help Rasa to recover her health and come back on her feet!

Since 27th March 2023, Rasa Prem is extremely sick and not able to work nor fend for herself. After more than 2 months in which doctors couldn´t determine exactly these symptoms´ reasons, on 30th May, she has been diagnosed with a tumor on her spine. On 8th June the tumor was surgically removed successfully.

The good side of it is, around 90% of people who suffer from it, fully recover. Rasa´s tumor was benign, luckily, but big: 2 cm. Unluckily, its position was blocking spinal fluid and that was causing full range of symptoms including paralysis. Many symptoms are still present even after surgery.

Unfortunately, she has already spent all her savings for the local hospital bills and care she needed last 2.5 months. That is why she needs you to help to get her health back.

Paradoxically, Rasa Prem uses to be a woman whose job is to help people. Now, universe places her on the opposite side. Perhaps, because it is her turn to receive the deserved support that has always provided.

Since that fateful date, she has experienced a series of life-threatening situations and had to be hospitalised several times. Her inconveniences include seizures, respiratory emergencies, kidneys collapse, sleep apnea, paralysis of legs and lower body, blackouts and a near death experience, among others. Tumor was the reason for all suffering. Now with its removal, Rasa have a great chances of full recovery.

What is needed

Her insurance company couldn't confirm any refunds yet and the whole medical treatment has been very expensive. Rasa has already spent about 20,000 Euros and will likely need approximately 20,000 more, in order to get a proper rehabilitation which might last several months, half year or longer.

So far, expenses have been related to finding the diagnose (phase 1) and the surgery (phase 2). That included lab investigation, MRI diagnostic, radiology and radiotherapy, nursing, doctor’s evaluation, emergency rooms, intensive care, ambulance, parenteral nutrition, medical supplies, IV infusions, several types of tests, night-time caregivers, boat transfer with medical staff and supplies, supplements, medications, special foods, alternative therapies, flights, accommodations etc.These expenses (and new ones) will continue for the next few months, apart from living cost.

The final phase of this healing journey is rehabilitation

The damaged and numbed nerves still need some time and attention to recover. Rehabilitation is slow. Yet, she is not able to walk on her own. Special therapies are needed to bring all the numb and damaged parts to regrow. The rehabilitation in this intense healing process might last several months, half year or longer.

So we will prolong the campaign for some time for this rehabilitation process until Rasa feels better and can manage her life on her own. Your donations are helping towards all those expenses so far. It wouldn’t be possible without your donations. So...
