This is Ranjith a 43 year old technician residing in a small village in the state of Kerala, India. On 10th May, while driving to a local pharmacy to buy his wife medicines for thyroid he met with an major bike accident. This bike accident led to him sustaining life threatening injuries as follows - several fractures across the body; in critical areas such as the rib cage, collapse of the right lung, severe damage in the brain tissues. He is currently admitted in the ICU with ventilator support in Avitis Institute of Medical Sciences; Nenmara; Kerala,India and he is yet to regain consciousness.

 

He is a married man (wife, Sathya Ranjith who is unemployed) and the father of two young daughters, 14 and 6 years of age. His aged parents with severe health issues - father with critical heart problem, mother who is bedridden due to old age. He is the sole income producer in this family of 6 members, all living under the same roof.

 

The daily medical bills at the hospital are getting quite difficult for the family to manage as they come from a weak financial background and do not have adequate funds to keep up with the bills. Additional to the daily care charges, there is a new requirement for him to undergo a brain surgery to help minimize the damage that has occurred in the tissues. There is also an immediate need to support the family and kids' education.

 

The doctors predict many months of rehabilitation and treatment. He has high chances of being handicapped for life with special needs, and won’t be able to work in full capacity.
